The Modern Classic Residence in the United Kingdom is one of Azula Designs' most formally ambitious projects — a full residential brief that called for a design language capable of sitting comfortably alongside period architectural details while reading as unmistakably contemporary.

The piano room is the project's emotional heart. Designed as a formal reception space that doubles as a music room, it layers traditional room proportions with a carefully edited material palette — rich upholstery, custom millwork, and a floor finish that grounds the grandeur without tipping into pastiche. The view between the piano room and the living room creates a spatial sequence that rewards exploration.

The master bedroom is a study in calm considered layering: custom joinery, a restrained palette of warm neutrals, and bedside lighting positioned for reading rather than ambient wash. The sitting room — a separate, more intimate space than the main living room — provides the household with a quiet retreat distinct from the formal entertaining rooms.

The kitchen and dining room combination was approached as a practical brief first: a working family kitchen that needed to accommodate serious cooking, daily dining, and occasional formal use without sacrificing aesthetic consistency.
